We are delighted to announce that Professor Zi-Qiang Zhu, University of Sheffield, UK, will be delivering a keynote speech at ICEMD 2023. His presentation will be held virtually.
Prof. Zhu is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK, a Fellow of IEEE, USA, and a Fellow of IET, UK.
He held the Royal Academy of Engineering/Siemens Research Chair (2014-), is the Head of the Electrical Machines and Drives Research Group, and the founder of many research centers. He is the Founding Academic Director of Sheffield Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Research Centre, the Founding Director of CRRC Electric Drives Technology Research Centre, and the Founding Director of Midea Electric Machines and Controls Research Centres.
He received the 2019 IEEE Industry Application Society Outstanding Achievement Award, for the application of electricity to industry. He has received the prestigious 2021 IEEE Nikola Tesla Award for outstanding contributions to the generation and utilization of electric power with the citation “For contributions to the design, modeling, control, and application of ac permanent magnet machines and drives".
He is the author/co-author of >100 patents and >1000 papers, including >400 IEEE Transactions and IET Proceedings papers. He received >30 Best Paper Awards. He has served as the General Chair/Co-Chair of the 2013 International Symposium and was a Keynote Speaker at >26 international conferences.
